Gladius Network (GLA)

Gladius is an automated marketplace enabling decentralized CDN (Content Delivery Network) and DDoS protection on the blockchain.

Since the early 1990s, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks have been a blight on businesses and online government entities. Whether it is the work of criminals, who hold sites to ransom or exploit weaknesses by overwhelming the servers, or of hackers operating as sovereign agents, the cost of damage from last year’s attacks alone were close to $150 billion. Current solutions have been developed to help mitigate these attacks: content distribution networks (CDNs) deliver website content on behalf of customers from thousands of locations around the world, making an attack difficult due to both the scope of a CDN and the decentralised servers. Other solutions include, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), which are tailored to rebuff unwanted requests that overload the site's search, shopping cart or document-uploading features and “scrubbing”, a service offered by security firms, running traffic through their own servers and removing the malicious requests before sending the legitimate ones through.
